I have to write something today. Today is the first day of the change that our world has awaited for so long.
I started at 8 o’clock this morning, standing on the ice skating rink at Bryant Park (freezing my butt off) with a flock of yogini sisters, chanting Oms to send to Washington. Our hope was for our voices to be heard, so that our new President—President Barack Obama—who from today forward will speak for us, can lead us to see better days.
I hope he felt our good energy as he stood in front of the Capitol taking his oath with his lovely wife Michelle by his side, and his beautiful daughters looking on. There is a long road ahead with much work to do, and surely it won’t be easy. But I know I speak for many when I say we support him, we are inspired by him and we thank him for today, making us once again feel proud to be Americans.
